Non-FaceBook Bangkok Update

5:20 AM Can’t sleep on this, the eighth night of seemingly endless apartment confinement and it’s too early for a quick run for a coffee-pick-me-up, so I’m FB’ing and watching Al Jazeera News (non-English) of either Libya uprising footage or heated hospital gathering of hospital spouses who did not have surgery…just can’t tell. On the positive side, in less than four hours Peg has her first (of three) doctor follow-up appointments AND tomorrow we move over to the boutique hotel where pool staff will hand me towels and mocha lattes whenever needed. If I had a red wig and a dress, I would entertain Peg to my version of Annie’s “tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya tomorrow…tomorrow is always a day away”!

11:25 AM This morning we had a brief respite from apartment atrophy with a scheduled appointment with the plastic surgeon; the appointment went well. He removed the stitches over and under her eyes, and will finish the job same time next week. Good news is since the bruising has changed color from grape popsicle to saffron yellow rice, she can try to sleep more on a level plane than the previously pillow-elevated week. She welcomes the change!

I had my blood pressure checked while there, and it dropped from “OMG, you are going to explode” to the more normal “watch salt intake, get some exercise” level. Will also have it checked again tomorrow morning when I see my Bangkok heart doctor. And these are the days of our lives…
